As we all know, everything regarding fashion, has fundamentally been done before. Unusual shaped eyelets and laser cut patterns were the fancy new kids on the block. ( Oscar de la Renta / ThreeasFOUR / Rebecca Taylor)

There was a wonderful pair of wide leg pants from Ostwald Helgason that had an almost ombre effect but not with color, with the weight of the fabric. ( Ostwald Helgason / Victoria Beckham / Vera Wang )
You can always count on the incredible Thom Brown for a good time and a fierce look. I see him as more of an architect because everything he makes has such detailed structure to it.
Exceptional patterns and textiles. ( Peter Som / Prabal Gurung / Phillip Lim )
Knits and crochet were fun and a bit amped up. ( Philosophy by Natalie Ratabesi / Timo Weiland / Band of Outsiders )
Last, but in no way least, there was plenty of newfangled classics for evening. ( Zac Posen / Wes Gordon / Naeem Khan )
Regardless as to whether or not I liked all that I saw, I feel many designers took confident strides into the future of fashion a. For more on my selections from New York Fashion Week and the following weeks world-wide, feel free to peruse my Pinterest boards.
